Once Mounted, Multiply Used
This punching bag rail is specifically designed for effective and space-saving use of the training room. It provides a full 360° training radius at the punching bag and allows normal room usability after the workout. And that is not all.
The rails are also highly suitable for mounting gymnastics rings, sling trainers, fitness bands, and other fitness equipment, should the martial arts training be supplemented with additional exercises.
Functionality
The punching bag rail features two designated depressions. Depending on the requirement (boxing training or storage), the punching bag is simply pushed along the track into one or the other depression. Moving the bag requires only physical strength. Additional rigging or complex mechanisms for moving and locking the punching bag are completely eliminated.
Recommended Punching Bags and Usage
Punching bags weighing 40 to 50 kg are recommended. They slide smoothly on the rail and do not easily slip out of the depression, even during heavy kicks. Heavier punching bags can also be suspended from the rail. Moving them will naturally be more difficult, but it is entirely possible with increased physical effort.
Please note that kicks with a strong axial impact direction may unintentionally push the punching bag out of the depression. This can be avoided as follows:
-
Extend the suspension of the punching bag on the rail, for example by using longer chains.
-
Execute kicks slightly offset to the axial impact direction or avoid purely axial kicks entirely.
-
Increase the overall weight of the punching bag.
Recommended Mounting Height and Position
The punching bag rail is designed for standard room heights ranging from 240 to 300 cm.
The optimal mounting height for the punching bag is achieved when the upper edge of the bag is positioned 10 cm or 5% above the user's body height. Calculation example using the 5% rule: With a body height of 181 cm, the optimal mounting height is 190 cm (= 181 cm x 1.05). Formulas for calculating the optimal mounting height:
Relative: Optimal mounting height of the punching bag above the floor = Body height x 1.05
Absolute: Optimal mounting height of the punching bag above the floor = Body height + 10 cm
The punching bag rail should be mounted to the ceiling in such a way that (i) the maximum possible space around the punching bag is available during training and (ii) the punching bag does not hang disruptively in the room when in the storage position. A suitable storage position is often achieved when the punching bag rests approximately 2 to 5 cm away from the wall.
How is the punching bag connected to the punching bag rail?
In the simplest case, a round sling and a quick link are used. The round sling is wrapped around the tube of the punching bag rail (or simply placed centrally on top of the tube) and then connected to the ring or the mount on the punching bag using the quick link. Instead of a quick link, a sturdy carabiner can also be used. It should be noted that the connection can generally be established in other ways as well.
What is the clearance distance between the ceiling and the upper edge of the horizontal tube section in mm?
The distance is 114 mm, with a variation of 1 to 3 mm upwards or downwards.
What is the drilling diameter of the holes for the mounting screws?
The holes have a diameter of 10 mm. There are two holes in each flange.
How many holes are present per flange and what is the size of the bolt circle?
The round flanges have a diameter of 100 mm. The bolt circle of the holes is 75 mm.
